Sunday was the absolute best! Thank you to everyone who played, and thank you to our many many sponsors. My deep thanks to my faithful friends, the Soul Sisters, for running registration, the raffle, and so many other behind the scenes activities so successfully. All raffle winners have been notified.

You may have noticed a roving photographer this weekend, we thank Todd Lovitt for taking so many great photos! He has posted ~400 photos from tournament play on Friday and hopes to post Sat & Sun photos later today. Here's a link to that.

We were so lucky on the weather, a lot of matches got played, and the pork was a hit for lunch! We did get rain at 6:oopm, so if your match was rained on please come back at 8am to finish it.

Tomorrow promises to be another beautiful day. Please come early to check your match times. We will have lunch again and perhaps something nice for the early birds!

The rain doesn't stop these guys! They are terrific and man does that smell good!

We are very hopeful that we will get matches on in the afternoon. We will text/call with new times as we become more certain. Thank you all for being such troopers and for supporting our scholarship funds.

As you know, we award a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior at each of the area high schools. This year the Slidell tennis community and some fantastic, generous sponsors have made it possible for the Cool Doctor Foundation to award more than the usual one scholarship per school.

This is an appropriate year to do so because Christopher would have been a senior this year. Many of his classmates, affected deeply by his death, have set their mind to fulfilling his dream to become a "Cool Doctor", the one who, as a nurse, doctor, researcher, or therapist, will be a lifeline to kids struggling with similar diseases. Perhaps one will deliver the cure for rahbdomiasarcoma, which is what claimed his life.

I am proud of them, and happy and thankful that, as I read their essays, will not have to choose only one.
